Every day in the history of music is an interesting one and the day of November 21st across the years too have proven to be as interesting for several reasons. Here are the best of the lot!

On this day in 1955, Sun Records’ owner, Sam Phillips, sold the King Of Rock ‘n’ Roll Elvis Presley’s contract to RCA Records. RCA Records paid an unparalleled amount of $35,000 to purchase the contract.

On November 21st 1962, The Beatles had their performance scheduled at the Kaiserkeller music night club in Hamburg, Germany. The lead guitarist of the band, George Harrison, was not allowed to enter the nightclub, as he was only 17 years old at the time. Being underage, Harrison was legally prohibited to stay at the nightclub past midnight; and hence The Beatles had to go ahead with their gig without Harrison.

This day in 1960 witnessed the American doo-wop vocal group Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs soar to the No. 1 spot on the US singles chart with their hit track Stay. Stay is the shortest track to ever hit the No.1 position on the US singles chart with a song length of one minute and 37 seconds.

On this day in 1981, duo Queen and David Bowie soared to the No. 1 position on the UK singles chart, with their duet track Under Pressure. This track was recorded at a studio in Germany, and is the first song to be released by David Bowie in collaboration with another music artist.

This day celebrates the birth of Francis MacDonald who was born in 1970. Also celebrating his birthday on this day is Alex James, who was born in 1968. James is the bass guitarist for the Blur band and has been associated with the band since 1988.
